Today’s Top 10 Toughest New Cars – Subaru Has 3 Models

Just 18 months ago, you could go to a Subaru retailer and buy a Forester, Crosstrek, Outback or another new model on the same day. That all changed with microchip shortages and supply chain issues plaguing all car brands. Subaru America has received the toughest of any automaker because it usually keeps little stock.

New report from Edmunds Subaru says it now has three Hard to find ten models in America. And the hard-to-find first model is Subaru. The report also lists the average markup for rare models and finds that Subaru does not sell these models with mega brands over the suggested factory retail price (MSRP).

The 10 hardest cars to find as of April 2022

The first hard-to-find car is the 2022 Subaru WRX next-generation. It is followed by Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Next-Generation 2022 Subaru BRZ, Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid, BMW X4, Subaru Crossstroke, Honda Insight, Honda CR-V Hybrid, Toyota RAV4 , and Hyundai Elantra.

An Edmunds report from 2016 revealed the turnaround days for several popular manufacturers over a 13-month period. The report showed that the car brand with the vehicles that spent the least time on a dealer deal was Subaru, with vehicles spending less than 20 days on a lot before it’s sold out. But Days of Transition (DTT) are fewer now.

The all-new WRX 2022 is the latest new car on sale today. On average, it spends less than a week on a lot of dealerships before a lucky buyer gets swept away by it. When will the stock of new cars improve?
